Shame on your state for being so spineless and allowing goondas to 'teach' women how to behave. Religion and politics make a heady mix, but somewhere, somewhere, please keep your conscience alive. Don't let these goons with half-baked notions on a great and ancient culture tell us what to do. Don't underestimate the power of the words- We, the People. We put you where you are, don't you forget that. I'm sure you will not publish this comment- it would be in keeping with your government's disgraceful apathy. But I sure as hell hope you will read it. This Valentine's Day, I will toast a drink to myself and celebrate my womanhood in a pub. Let's see what your Ram Sene does.

Central govt is trying to coverup its failure on Mumbai attacks by propping up these silly attacks in opposition ruled states.

I laugh when I see English media falling into this trap by telecasting sensational stories and trying to hang BJP govt and home minister.

There are soldiers being killed, naxals killing innocents, Pakistan is asking India to take a hike even after India gave all proof - these are not important, but some news about a pub - an illegal one at that - being attacked is a national story.

Talk about misguided priorities of Angrezi media.

Dear Dr Acharya,

While i appreciate your stern warning to the publicity hungry ANTI DEMOCRATIC institutions like RAMASENE,i would suggest to ask your intelligence to penentrate into the ramasene AND avoid incidents,PREVENTION of any unlawful event will not get any KUDOS from the MEDIA ,but it will definitely stop FEEDING the media.........I would like seeing strong action against SRIRAMASENE in days to come for any indecent and UNLAWFUL attempts....
Meanwhile the ENQUIRY findings OF the abduction of the CPI(M) MLA has clearly pointed out that the some politicians do not even mind using their daughter's truma for political gains,SHAME ON SUCH POLITCIANS and SHAME ON THE MEDIA.........

Dear Sowmya, don't be shame on the state. If you let me know which state are you from, I can make you scream in shame and may be you will commit suicide. Read the news properly before showering your sweet words (you should have been named subhashini). Glad you were not in US, most states have banned low hip jeans as a crime, i'm sure u must have been counting bars if you were there. Coming valentine, please go ahead, whether in pub or street, nobody cares, as long as you don't influence others. ya, pls visit US, atleast 10 guys will ask you for one night stand in 10 mins, so you can celebrate your womanhood a lot better. They have the best pubs in the world.

@Puneeth- It's none of your business how I choose to celebrate my womanhood, just as it's none of the Ram Sene's business to decide how I want to do it. I'm not breaking any law by having a drink and don't you sit on your high moral horse and tell me what to do. If you are so concerned about profits being made from liquor sale, try getting the government to ban it. This issue has nothing to do with the business aspect of liquor, it's got to do with moral policing. And your snide remarks don't address that.

@Legolas- You're so lame, I don't even want to respond to your comment. I live here, in India, and if the law of my country does not forbid me from doing something, nobody else has the right to question my actions. Don't pretend to be the messiah of Indian Culture- we define our culture for ourselves.
