Sting operations have proved to be criminal enterprises. recently, a Delhi businessman got a TV channel to stage a 'sting' against a lady teacher. People believed the doctored footage and beat her up. It turned out she was iinocent.
As part of the fake sting it conducted a few years ago, Tehelka engaged the services of female sex worker and then filmed her secretly with her client. Has the NCW taken cognizance of this? I believe even prostitutes have right to privacy. This is a matter grave enough that some court should have suo motu initiated criminal proceedings against Tehelka. I'm disappointed to say that your own NDA govt was lax in its responsibility of bringing unscrupulous media entities to book. Congress's reliance on Tehelka is reflective of that party's culture. But why is BJP afraid of cleaning up the system?
The so-called pink chaddi campaign initially used a 'logo' with underwear tranposed on Om symbol. They removed it after decent people protested. It is a criminal offence under IPC 295A to insult sacred symbols of any religion. The silence of governments at centre and in Bengaluru over this matter is unsettling. Would they be silent if the symbol of some other religion was likewise profaned?
