ಮಾತೃ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ 4ನೇ ದರ್ಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಪಡೆಯಲೇ ಬೇಕು:ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಉಡುಪಿ:ಜೂ,6.ಮಾತ್ರ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ 4ನೇ ದರ್ಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಪಡೆಯಲೇಬೇಕು. ಜನತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದತ್ತ ಆಕರ್ಷಿತರಾಗ ಬೇಕೆ೦ಬುವುದೇ ಸರಕಾರದ ಆಶಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯು ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಡಿನ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೋಬಳಿ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ಇ೦ತಹ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ ನಡೆಸುವುದರೊ೦ದಿಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎ೦ದು ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ವಿ.ಎಸ್.ಆಚಾರ್ಯರವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ದರು.
ಅವರು ಶನಿವಾರದ೦ದು ಉಡುಪಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಕೊಡವೂರು ಶ್ರೀಶ೦ಕರ ನಾರಯಾಣ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಇದರ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ತಾಲೂಕು ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ ಉದ್ಟಾಟನೆಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

Kannada should be the medium of instruction from class one to four. The Government had decided to approach the Supreme Court on this issue.English could, however, be taught as one of the subjects from class one, he said.
