ಉಡುಪಿ: ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರಿಗೆ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಆದಾಯದ ಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಗಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ೬೦೦೦ ರೂ. ಅದಾಯವನ್ನೇ ಈಗಲೂ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರು ಯಾವುದೇ ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವನ್ನು ಅವರೇ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವದರಿಂದ ಈ ಅದಾಯ ಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಲು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ. ವಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉಡುಪಿ ಅಜ್ಜರಕಾಡು ಪುರಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ರವಿವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರ ಮಹಾಸಂಘಗಳ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರಿಗೆ ಮಾಸಿಕ ೪೦೦ ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ ಶೇ. ೭೫ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ಅಂಗವೈಕಲ್ಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಸಿಕ ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ಗೌರವಧನ ನೀಡುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಿ.ಕೆ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ನಾರಾಯಣ ಗುಪ್ತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಉಡುಪಿ ಶಾಸಕ ರಘುಪತಿ ಭಟ್, ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಕೋಟ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವಿಲ್ಪ್ರೆಡ್ ವಿ. ಗೋಮ್ಜ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಗೌರವಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಬಿ. ಪುಂಡಲೀಕ ಮರಾಠೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಸಾಧನಾ ಕಿಣಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಉಡುಪಿ ಅಜ್ಜರಕಾಡು ಪುರಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ರವಿವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರ ಮಹಾಸಂಘಗಳ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರಿಗೆ ಮಾಸಿಕ ೪೦೦ ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ ಶೇ. ೭೫ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ಅಂಗವೈಕಲ್ಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಸಿಕ ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ಗೌರವಧನ ನೀಡುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಿ.ಕೆ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ನಾರಾಯಣ ಗುಪ್ತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಉಡುಪಿ ಶಾಸಕ ರಘುಪತಿ ಭಟ್, ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಕೋಟ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವಿಲ್ಪ್ರೆಡ್ ವಿ. ಗೋಮ್ಜ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಗೌರವಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಬಿ. ಪುಂಡಲೀಕ ಮರಾಠೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಸಾಧನಾ ಕಿಣಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

Udupi Nov 24: Home Minister V.S. Acharya on Sunday urged the physically challenged people to take advantage of various schemes launched by the Government.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Udupi unit of the Federation of Physically Handicapped Associations, here.
Dr. Acharya said that there were nearly 30 lakh physically challenged people in the country. Both the Union and the State governments had launched various schemes to help them. However, focussed attention was required in this regard. The physically challenged should fight for their rights, he said.
The State Government had decided to do away with the requirement of income limit to provide facilities to physically challenged people. It had decided to give Rs. 1,000 as monthly allowance to physically challenged people with over 75 per cent disability.
The Government was committed to filling the backlog vacancies reserved for physically challenged in various departments. It would do periodic evaluation of the implementation of schemes meant for physically challenged. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa would be urged to convene a meeting soon to discuss the problems faced by the physically challenged, Dr. Acharya said.
Dinakar Kenjur welcomed the gathering. President of the district unit of the federation Wilfred Gomes delivered the introductory remarks.
MLA K. Raghupati Bhat, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, president of the State unit of the federation C.K. Lakshminarayana Gupta and Vishwallabha Tirtha Swamiji of Kaniyur Math, were present, among others.
