GULBARGA: Home Minister V.S. Acharya on Monday announced that adedicated intelligence wing would be created in the State, with aseparate set of officers recruited for the purpose, to meet increasingchallenges and threats from extremists and terrorists. Dr. Acharyatold presspersons here that the proposed wing would be an independentdepartment. It would be a part of the Internal Security Division thatis to be created and the division would be entrusted with theresponsibility of monitoring the Anti-Terrorist Squad and the CoastalSecurity Police.More at:http://www.hindu.com/2008/12/16/stories/2008121652420300.htm
