Common man appreciates move to limit red beacon

Background info: One of the first decisions made by new administrationin Karnataka is to ease traffic woes of Bangalore. As part of this,vehicles with red beacon and pilot vehicles will be restricted to onlyhandful of VIPs - Governor, Chief Minister, Home Minister, ex-PMMr.Devegowda and visiting Head of the States in Bangalore. Trafficwill not be stopped for any other VIPs. This will also freeup policeforce to focus on other immediate tasks.

Though the successive Governments had been stating that a specialisedATC would be set up, the issue had been put on the backburner forlong. The process is now being hastened after Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurappa announced in the budget proposals for 2008-09 that an ATCwould be established in Bangalore.
