28.06.2009: K'taka bids adieu to Rameshwar Thakur

Bangalore June 28, 2009: The Governor of Karnataka Mr Rameshwar Thakur was accorded a grand farewell by the state government today. Mr Yeddyurappa thanked him for guidance and cooperation. Mr Thakur was seen off at the airport by the Chief Minister and his Cabinet Colleagues. Mr. Yeddyurappa also felicitated Thakur with Mysore peta and garland.
Mr. Thakur earlier received a guard of honour at the Raj Bhavan. Talking to reporters before leaving to the airport, Thakur said he had a good time in Karnataka, and was leaving with a heavy heart. He said Karnataka has developed a lot over the years, and hoped it will strive hard to bring overall development.
Thanking the CM and people for the cooperation received from them during his tenure here, he said: "It was, indeed, a good experience and exposure to elevate my intellectual standard,'' he said.
