Udupi : Parents and teachers must not conceal the disease of their wards or students, instead they must immediately report to the nearest government hospital and utilize the Suvarna Arogya Chaithanya scheme mooted by the government and get the child treated, said home minister V S Acharya.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Suvarna Arogya Chaithanya Scheme at the Govt PU College for Girls, Udupi, on Aug 3. He said the scheme is linked to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund or Yashaswini Medical Insurance scheme so all expenses are covered. This academic year over 37 lakh students were covered under the Suvarna Arogya Chaithanya scheme and got a free medical check up, and next year it would be increased to one crore students across the state, the minister said.This year the medical check up would be from August 1 to August 31 and Acharya urged students to utilize the free medical check up.
