Udupi March 8 (DHNS): 'Police personnel have to update themselves with latest technologies,' said Home Minister Dr V S Acharya.
Speaking at the passing out parade of seventh batch of police trainees from Udupi Police Training School here on Sunday, he said "police should maintain good rapport with the public. The attitude of public towards the department dependant on police behaviour."
Stating that Rs 250 crore has been earmarked for police force in the state budget, Dr Aacharya said Rs 50 crore will be utilised for the construction of police quarters in the state. This will include even the fulfledged Police Commissionerate in Mangalore.
The allowances of police who do over duty during holidays will be hiked from Rs 50 to Rs 100.
