Karnataka: Knowledge hub of Asia!












Mangalore Feb 28: The Karavali Group of Colleges held a Lamp Lighting ceremony and Graduation day on 27 February 2011 at Karavali College Premises, Kottara Chowki, Mangalore. The program began by invoking God's blessings. Lavita welcomed the guests and the gathering. A floral welcome was given to all the dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the students, V S Acharya (Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt of Karnataka, said that lighting of the lamp is a very significant moment and is very important for the students. This is the day when one should remember Florence Nightingale who brought dignity to the nursing profession.

The outgoing graduates should take the challenges because they are now educated nurses with a great profession. In India, Dakshina Kannada is famous for medical education and is called as the knowledge hub of Asia, he said. He also told the graduates that they were very lucky to be a part of this institution. He urged the parents to encourage their children to take up higher studies and to become more and more knowledgeable in the society, as parents best gift for their children was education. Ganesh Rao (Hon'ble Founder Chairman, G R Education Trust (R)) congratulated the rank holders. About 450 students of Karavali college from the following courses B Sc Nursing, B Pharma, B. Sc., Fashion design, B Sc Interior Design, B Sc Hospitality Science, MSW, BBM, BCA, B Ed, D Ed, were felicitated on the occasion. First rank holder from Mangalore University, Srimathi Kamath and Sindhu from B Sc Garment design were felicitated with gold medals by the management.
