Mr Acharya is speaking the truth. There is no way a Government can provide security at that level.
Remember an old story.
People complained to the king that there is too much dirt all over the country. And the king was not doing anything about it.
The king, always listening to the vox populi, decided to cover the entire country with leather. His prime minister knew this would be disastrous. Gently the prime minister brought to the attention of the king that it might be a simpler and far cheaper option to teach people how to design and wear footwear.
In today's Karnataka, if the Government does indeed go about spending huge amounts in providing security at every place of worship, and every religious place, and every school, etc, the taxes would have to be raised to a level people cannot afford.
It might be a far cheaper option to tap the phones - landline and mobile - of all Congress and JDS leaders. The problem will be solved in no time. Other than these, there might be a few anti-social elements. We have got to learn to live with them.
The BJP Government is Karnataka is doing a pretty good job. Support them.
