But some...Dear Bharath,

Thanks for your suggestions. But sometimes (most ofthe times), the common man is in a helpless/hopeless situation and he has to bribe somebody to get his work done. For some reasons he is in a hurry or he needs something urgent from the officials. They make his life miserable by introducing silly delays i.e. somebody is on leave, computer system is not working, we are waiting for somebody's approval/signature or we have not received any complaint/request. One solution is to convert all the offices to paperless offices that would save our environment and everything is recorded, prople should be able to complaint about somebody if he is corrupt (I think this might be already in place but I am not aware. Then awareness has to be increased by media), status of the complaints to be made public (as we are discussing some issues directly with the home minister without anybody's intervention). I know the people at the top too are corrupt in some cases but it does not have direct impact on the poor person who is waiting for some record from some officer since many days. He has to go to city from his village, stay there or travel everyday to follow up or to get the document.... I think this scene is clear to everybody ...

ಇದೆಲ್ಲ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಮಾಲೆಕಣ್ಣಿನ ಜನಗಳಿಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ?prascahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480796096692901847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-271219034107113159.post-57801589399121889472008-06-20T00:29:00.000+05:302008-06-20T00:29:00.000+05:30First of all congratulations for becoming Home Mi...First of all congratulations for becoming Home Misister of Karnataka.
Last few days I am keenly observing the turn of events in media. Not a great start for BJP (though it is not self inflicted issues) and I hope in future things will turn out great.

Here is my long pending dream to come true from politicians of your stature.

Biggest challenge for common man is corruption. It has cascading effects on so many things. If we are able to root out corruption, majority of the issues will be solved.
Here are my 2 simple proposals for the same
.
(1) Build student/people network against corruption. (Establish anti corruption squad by common people. Similar to NGO type). Recruit volunteers. Encourage them to fight corruption at grass root level.
(2) Strengthen lokayuktha and genuinely follow up the corruption cases

As an individual I fought many issues like in day to day life. But it will be fruitful if we fight as a group. The younger generation is waiting for such platform to make the difference.

-Bharath ShettyBharath Kumar Shettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08700337366943533644noreply@blogger.com
